The old dam was built during British rule in Egypt. It did not have enough water storage capacity so the government decided to construct a new dam with the financial and technical assistance of the Soviet Union. The new dam was completed in 1970. It has 12 power generators, each having 175 megawatts of power generation capacity. This dam can generate 2.1 gigawatts of hydroelectricity.

                                                     Sadde Kobar Dam

Three Gorges Dams
The Three Gorges Dam is built on the Yangtze River. In China.s Hubei Province. It is thw world’s largest Hydroelectric power station and the 2nd largest dam by power generation. The dam was built at a cost of 180 billion dollars. The dams structure was constructed in 2006. It was completed in 2012.

Syncrude Tailings Dam

Thermometer

                                                   Thermometer
The Thermometer is an instrument used for measuring the thermometer of the air or a person’s body. This instrument tells you how hot or cold the air or your body is.

                                                  Santorio Santrio
In 1612, Italian scientist Santorio Santrio invented the fist theroscope with a scale. Perhaps, It was the first clinical thermometer that could be put in the mouth of a patient. However, The thermometers designed by Galileo and santario could not become popular.

Ferdinand

In 1654, Italian duke Ferdinand designed a thermometer with a closes glass tube containg a liquid. He used alcohol as a liquid. His thermometer was also not so effective. It did not have a scale either.

Thomas Clifford Allbutt

In 1866, English scientist Thomas Clifford Allbutt designes a clinical thermometer which measure the temperature of a patient in five minutes. In 1999, De. Francesco Pompeo designed the world’s first modern thermometer which measure the body temperatire in just two seconds by scanning the forehead.

Fahrenheit Scale

In 1714, German scientist Daniel Gabriel Faharenheit designed a thermometer in which he used mercury instead of alcohol. In his scale, The freezing pint of water was kept at 32`F and boiling point at 212`F. In this way, The points between the boiling and freezing point of water were divided into 180 degrees, In a Frhrenheit scale, a degree is called Fahrenheit degree.
